I have always had a fond nostalgia-like fuzzy response to video appropriation. Recently came across work from SlurpTV. This artist describes himself as motionographer, videojockey, and wastingtimer and I happen to like that. I love the retro mashups that are created here. Check out more of the work here.

A recent submission for the Vimeo Weekend Project. A simple idea that was fun for me to create. I used a Canon 7D with a Zeiss 50mm lens. The music is Marco Mahler.

AE Plugin: Plexus

Came across this plugin today on Motionographer. Plexus allows you to create some really cool cellular effects and abstract them in a lot of different ways. Download it yourself here.

Rafter "No Fucking Around" is just another solid piece by Matt Wells that I can't help but laugh at and enjoy.

Everynone - Symmetry

Everynone is a film making team stationed in New York. Their work is bold and beautiful. Their use of strong immagery is apparent in all their work. Check out their website here.

This video in particular is nothing short of gorgeous. I love when an artist can really get the look and feel of film photography in video. Each image in this piece is a wonderfully composed photo. That along with some amazing editing makes Symmetry a video to watch.

Dustin Bankord - Yorn

Love this clear and concise animation by Dustin Bankord for Yorn. Only two colors and a ton of key frames are what it takes to make this masterpiece.

Phil Borst - Kyndill

Smooth as a babies bottom; that's how I would describe this animation by Phil Borst.

Ross Phillips

Check out the amazing art by Ross Phillips. His style is simple, clean, effective, charming, and fun. His work brings a smile to my face every time.

Mutant Jukebox - Lilly Donaldson: Flying Hair

Simple and elegant. This video shows us that we don't have to rely on a lot of fancy tricks to make a powerful video. Some strong coloring and composition make this video one to remember.

Xaver Xylophon - Joy of Destruction

This video is nothing short of amazing. A great theme done in an interesting style. The editing and variety of shots really make this a masterpiece.

Joe D! - X-Men: First Class Title Sequence

I really enjoy the simple animation and 60's vibe that this X-Men title sequence by Joe D! is putting out.

The Dream Team's First Game

Tried using my HD GoPro at my first dodgeball game. I need to adjust the angle of the camera but other than that I think it has some good potential.

Clemento - Macro Kingdom III

A solid video by artist Clemento. The use of text and animation takes this footage to a whole new level.

Kim Holm: Matta - Release the Freq

I simply love when an artist can compose graphics, text, and video and make it all look like it's living in the same world. A win by Kim Holm.

J Mascis - Not Enough

Nothing flashy and that's what I like about it. Reminds me of old math class doodles. Awesome video from Sub Pop Records. All the original art done by Chad VanGaalen.
