IS TROPICAL - THE GREEKS (official music video)
This video by El Nino is pure unadulterated fun. And that's all I got to say about that.

We Are Seventeen
Unfortunately, I could not post this video on my blog, watch it here. We Are Seventeen is a design and motion graphics studio based in London. Their plethora of work ranges from smooth 2D animations to in depth 3D renderings. This particular piece was made for BBC and the guys at We Are Seventeen "were asked to design and animate two spots that take us on a journey and explore how circles keep cropping up in the history of the earth." This is the beautiful result. I especially love their commitment to keep the piece overall 2D while focusing on solid transitions and animation. I urge you to check out their website, it has in depth looks at each of their videos and how they approached the client's needs.

Rebranding - Scott Benson
A short and light animation about rebranding from Scott Benson. This work hits home for me because so often in my daily work I am helping companies brand themselves, and it is not always the most fun...
Also I suggest you check out more of Scott's work, it's pretty great. Here is a little taste...

Summer Day Haiku
A piece I did for the Vimeo Weekend Project. This weekend it was a Haiku based project. This meant along with writing a haiku (which is 5 syllables, 7 syllable, 5 syllables) we had to have 3 different shots (5 seconds, 7 seconds, 5 seconds). After having such a hot weekend this was the only thing I could make.
Date Night
Finally! The first episode of Mean Mug + Slim has been created. A lot of fun to work and a lot of things I would do differently. It was a great learning experience. Enjoy.

Alan Sailer
Alan Sailer is a crazy mother fucker. He shoots shit at stuff and takes pictures of it, but this isn't the same old bullet shots you've seen before. His work spans the gamut in content and creativity, from rubber balls to bullets, from candy bars to in depth 3D models. I only posted his work, Crush Crush, but there were a ton I could have put on here, check out more here.

Bedouin Soundclash
I was listening to Bedouin Soundclash's "Light the Horizon" album in preparation for seeing them at the Shelter in Detroit at the end of June when I said to myself, why not post some music on here, that's the whole point right?

Looking to the Past
I feel like I have been so future focused lately that I have been forgetting the things that got me where I am. I recently stumbled across my old website from high school and found myself really enjoying a lot of my old photography. Lately I have been spending a lot of time on video that it made me really appreciate the subtle moments that photography can capture. So here is a group of my favorites.

“I am the humming in your veins, calling you my own as I pass every piece of life you’ve been through. I had been there for each, and they had latched on and embedded themselves in the tiniest corners of your bones; filling the cracks others had left behind. And shortly after I too will dispense from here, leaving strays of my silent murmurs in your skin.”

Hook, Line & Murder
I really love this animation by Eben McCue. A wonderful story with a great use of camera work and depth of field that really bring the whole thing to life. Made entirely in After Effects.

"Breath Of Life" Series Tutorial
This is an amazing tutorial given to us by the Tuts+ Network. Ben Mounsey takes us through the entire process of creating a vector art character in Adobe Illustrator and then animating that character in After Effects. For more vector inspiration check out Ben's website here.

40's Style Vertical Video Booth
I love video portraits and using the vertical frame is just another interesting way to display your footage. This is a well composed video from Joshua Brown.
MK12 - FITC Toronto 2011 Titles
Dan Deacon - Surprise Stefani
An extremely interesting music video by Andrew de Freitas for artist Dan Deacon. I have seen a lot of videos involving old photo books and this is one of the most memorable. Andrew takes the process a step further by distorting the pages and combining several photos to create a whole new environment.
Apache
An extremely slick animation from director Ned Wenlock for the band Danger Beach on Dream Damage Records. I love the rotating device used to evolve the story along and it doesn't hurt to have a bad ass song to animate to. Download their album, Milky Way here. Also check out Ned's blog for an in-depth look at how Apache was made!
Path of Blood - Demon at the Crossroads of Destiny
A wonderfully crafted video by Eric Power. He does a lot of stop motion work with construction paper and he is VERY good at it. Check out more of his work by visiting his site by clicking on his name.
