Brent Hildy on Flickr

Some interesting artwork by Brent Hildy on Flickr.

Glitch

In a recent post I talked about my discovery of the glitch generator called Smack My Glitch Up. I really wanted to try and take this website and use it for video. The product actually worked out exactly as I envisioned it. I just had to make multiple glitched images on the parts of video that I wanted to be effected. It was shot with my GoPro Hero and the music is by Morgan Craft.

I don't really know why I made this. I basically wanted to take a .gif and make it more interesting. This was the outcome.

More Selections from Lisa Stang

We all struggle with transition and we all deal with it in different ways. Lisa Stang photographs her changing "home" as she continues to find new inspiration wherever she goes. These beautiful photographs were taken with a Mamiya C33. View more of her work at her flickr site here.

WongPing - We Want More

This work by WongPing is an awesomely strange 8-bit journey through consumerism. Check out more of his work here.

Big Horse

I was recently inspired by work using figurines and wanted to try my hand at a few different projects. This stop motion animation, Big Horse, is one of them.

Lisa

I have been wanting to play with the idea of representing the traditional portrait in video form. I think the subtle movements lock the viewer even more intensely into the gaze of the subject. Through this medium more life is formed and a longer moment can be shared. This first piece is Lisa and was shot on the Canon 7D.

Shapes

Really haven't had the chance to make anything recently. This is a simple animation that I've wanted to make for a while. The inspiration came from a piece I saw submitted to the "Primitives" 5 Second Project on greyscalegorilla.com. The inspiration used Cinema 4D and After Effects, I simply wanted to create a version using Apple Motion. Enjoy.

Alec Soth: Photographer

Alec Soth has always been one of my biggest photography influences.  I fell in love with his NIAGARA series and have been a fan ever since.  His most recent work for the New York Times involved him taking portraits in Rockford, Illinois.  The goal was to take the focus of today's economy and put it on people who actually have jobs, finding out how secure they felt. The website has wonderful interviews to go along with the pictures. I suggest you visit the site here.

The Wave Pictures - Sweetheart

A lot of planning and work must go in to a piece like this. A beautiful video by Ben Reed. Also visit his website here.
Music by The Wave Pictures, get the album here.
